一网友以自己要卖煮玉米为借口，向街边小卖店老板“讨教”玉米“久煮不坏”的原因，老板说：“我们在小店外摆个炉子卖煮玉米的，都知道要往锅里放玉米香精。这样可以让玉米保持香味，不管在锅内煮多长时间，玉米都不会馊掉，能卖更长的时间。”
